The Department was established in 2007 offering Degree Pass Course in the subject. Since 2015 the Department offers Honours Course under the UG Programme of NEHU, Shillong. From the beginning the main thrust of the Department is to create interest in the students on the subject through understanding of its concepts and principles. The Department has six experience Faculty Members which includes the Principal of the College.
