Governing Body of the College
The College is run and managed by the Governing Body duly constituted by the Mairang Presbytery which is the Sponsoring Authority and approved by the State Government from time to time. The Governing Body meets regularly to address the various issues, problems and challenges faced by this newly established Science College with a view to finding out ways and means to solve such problems as well as striving its efforts to take the College forward and making it an Institute of excellence

Powers and Functions of the Governing body
The Governing Body of the College shall -
- Administers the College in accordance with the general policy laid down in the Constitution
of the College.
- Appoint, confirm, suspend and dismiss the Principal subject to the approval of the
Presbytery.
- Appoint, confirm, suspend and dismiss the Professor, Lecturer and other Staff of the College.
- Appoint the Vive-President, the Bursar or Treasurer, the Dean of the students and other
such post if necessary.
- Determine the salary and allowance etc of all the employees of the college.
- Principal:- Principal means the Head of the College appointed by the Sponsoring Body.
- Establish and administer the Provident Fund in accordance with the Provident Rules of the
College.
- Control the Finance of the College and receive the Audited Statements of all accounts,
collect authorized subscriptions, see that the fees are realized and that exemptions from
payment of fees are not granted except in accordance with the notes in force, consider and
pass the College Budget for forwarding to the Presbytery and sanction the expenditure of
any sums that are outside the budget and appoint Chartered Accountants and fix their
remuneration and arrange for audited of all the accounts of the College whenever
necessary.
- Maintain, manage the property of the College and College Building (i) furniture and
equipment are required and carry on any construction work on the property used by the
College (ii) supervise and administer the College hostels.
- Recommend members of the Governing Body to the Presbytery.
- Grant leaves to the teachers and other staff of the College subject to the prescribed rules
and arrange for filling up and resulting vacancy.
- Determine the general scheme of studies of the College subject to approval by the
University to which the College is affiliated and arrange for the inclusion of additional
subjects and creation of new posts.
- Consider and initiate project for improvement of the College.
RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE COLLEGE
The following are the Rules and Regulations frame by the Sponsoring Body. These rules shall come
into force with effect from the date of Registration of the College, they are the by-laws under the
rules and regulations of the College.
- The College may start its functioning after the society approved under the Registration Act.
XII 1983.
- Bye Laws: - The Governing Body shall have the power to frame bye-law with the objects of
rules and regulations as may be required from time to time
- Service Rules: - The Governing Body shall have the power to frame the service rules of the
College.
- President: -President means the Chairman of the Governing Body who rules and preside the
meeting of the College.
- Secretary:- The Secretary means the Secretary of the College, who shall be the member of
the Governing Body ho implement the resolutions of the College.
- Principal:- Principal means the Head of the College appointed by the Sponsoring Body.
- Financial Year:- The Financial Year are the twelve months beginning with the first day of
April and ending 31st March of the following year.
- Termination:- The Sponsoring Body and the Governing Body shall cause to be such member
it : (a) He/she fails to attend three consecutive meetings of the Governing Body without
obtaining leave from the president.
(b) He/she become of unsound mind by a competent court as involvement of is convicted
for a criminal offence involving turpitude.
- Resignation:- If any member of the Governing Body may resign from the membership of the
Governing Body if necessary to do so. He will be sent by writing to the Secretary and it shall take effect after the President accepted on behalf of the Governing Body.
- Filling of Vacancies-: If any vacancy caused by reason of death, or otherwise shall be filled
up by nomination.
- Suits by or against the Governing Body:- the Governing Body may sue or be used in the
name of the Secretary.
- Fund of the College:- The College shall maintain clearly all the Income and expenditure.
- Accounts and Audit:- All the funds of the College shall be audited by the Charter
Accountant every year.
- Asset and Liabilities:- The Governing Body shall be the custodian on all Assets and Liabilities
of the College.
- Amendment:- The Governing Body cannot be wound up or dissolved without the direction or permission of the Sponsoring Body.
- Declaration:- We the undersigned, being the members of the Governing Body of Mairang Presbyterian Science College , here by certify that these rules and regulations are correct copy of the rules and regulations of the College. At the same time we accept that we are members in pursuance of the Governing Body for three years.
