DEGREE COURSES

The duration of the B.Sc (Honours) Degree Course is three years, evenly spread over 6 (six) Semesters. A student shall be eligible to seek admission to the 1st Semester of Honours Degree Courses if he/she has passed the class XII Examination in Science Stream from any recognized Board in India or any other Examination considered equivalent by the University. Students can choose any of the subjects below as an Honours subject with any of the combinations as given below.

COURSES OF STUDY FOR HIGHER SECONDARY SECTION

The Higher Secondary of the College is affiliated to the Meghalaya Board of School Education, Tura. Being a Science College it offers only the Science Stream. The duration of the course is 2(two) years.

Criteria

Student seeking admission in Class XI Science must pass Science and Mathematics at the SSLC Examination. Subject to availability of seats, students from other Educational Institutions may be admitted to Class XII if they have passed the Class XI Promotion Examination in the same subject to their obtaining permission from MBOSE.

Students are required to choose any one group of the subject combinations given below:

  • Biology

Rules and Regulations

  • All students are to bring the College Identity Card everyday and should produce whenever asked for by the College authority.
  • Students shall maintain discipline inside the College Campus. Misconduct or misbehavior of any kind towards the teaching and non-teaching staff and fellow students will be dealt severely.
  • Students must respect institutional property. All students should maintain cleanliness inside the classrooms and within the campus. Fines will be imposed on students causing damage to College property.
  • Communal harmony is to be preserved. Every student should behave in a disciplined manner both in words and actions.
  • Students cannot take part in any outside activities under the name of the College, without prior permission from Principal.
  • Smoking, chewing tobacco, taking alcohol or any intoxicating drinks are strictly forbidden in the College Campus. Anyone found smoking, chewing tobacco, drinking inside the Campus will be punished and is liable to be expelled from the College.
  • Using of Mobile Phone inside the class room and in the campus is strictly prohibited. Mobile phones in the possession of students in the College Campus will be confiscated and will be returned in due time as decided by the College Authority.
  • Students must read the College Notice Board regularly. Ignorance of any notification will not be accepted as an excuse for not performing the required activity.
  • Students are required to have a minimum of 85% attendance.
  • Students whose attendance is less than 85% will not be allowed to appear the Selection Test and Final Examination.
  • Any student who is absent continuously for 15(fifteen) days without prior intimation will have his/her name struck off from the register.
  • All students are expected to dress respectable and appropriately to College. Since the College is co-educational, male and female students must dress decently so as not to cause offence to others. The following code should also be adhered to:
  • Hair should be cut appropriately, combed and tidy
  • The wearing of earrings by boys is discouraged
  • Cap must not be worn in classroom
